Absolutely! Shipping outside of the US will be $1 USD for the additional postage. Within the US it is included.
You may! The return address on your card will send mail to my PO box! I’d love to hear from you, but I also encourage you to share the love! This is a practice of growth and expanding connection for me, and I’m so excited to hear how you perpetuate this within your own circles.
Subcriptions will be open on the 1st-5th of every month, and letters for that month will be sent out the last week of that month! So if you sign up on September 2nd, your letter will be mailed out ~September 30th.
The Bird House is a physical monthly snail mail subscription designed to connect you back to your inner child through letter writing and thoughtfully curated art. It’s time to bring a little intention, sentimentality, and presence back into our lives.
Each month’s piece of mail will include a printed letter very candidly written by me (Madeline! Or Miss Bird Boy if we want to be formal;)), a carefully chosen print with a postcard design on the back, and a sticker.
Postcard prints and stickers will build on each other to create a very beautiful collection as the months go on. They may be classically painted pieces I love, my photography work, art by local artists, poetry, etc.
This is my take on an analog Substack, a practice of journaling and reflection, and a desperate need for connection with other women as we navigate through a world that seems to want to pull us further apart. I hope this group inspires you to connect with a friend, sing a song, take more photos of your life, & document document document.
The process is in the name, snail mail is slow! Please allow up to 7 days for US orders to arrive, and up to 21 days for international orders. All mail is shipped with stamps to minimize shipping costs, which also means no tracking information. I think this is the beauty of this group! Slowing down and reconnecting with the childhood excitement of an unexpected treat in the mailbox. We love teaching our brains delayed gratification!

So when will I receive my letter?
When you purchase a subscription you'll receive repeat deliveries. These are based on the subscription duration and frequency that you select.
Your payment details will be stored securely and you'll be charged for each of these deliveries, unless you choose to pay in advance.
Some subscriptions may auto-renew at the end of their duration. If you don't want to renew a subscription you can cancel it.
If you want to cancel or change your subscription, you can do it at any time. Your order confirmation emails have links to your order. You can manage your subscription from there.
